we dedicated the month of December to an in-depth analysis of all the software we had seen fleetingly at the fair and we made our choice that in addition to the quality of the program was based also on other factors:

we have discarded advanced steel, prosteel (which will probably disappear) and all autocad applications because we want to abandon the autocad platform that for us is too heavy and limiting.

we have discarded bocad even if it is very valid for the complexity in the use of the software also caused by an obsolete and very labyrinthic graphical interface, plus the assistance is made by the belgium.

we have discarded strucad that has never convinced us fully, among other things in these days I read on the internet that is going to be bought from trimble that is already master of tekla and therefore it is the case to understand if they will continue to develop it or if it will be abandoned (http://www.trimble.com/news/release.aspx?id=122211a)

the choice is clearly relapsed on tekla, for a series of reasons: the harpaceas seller is the one that has committed itself most deeply in the analysis and solution of our problems and the structure of the Italian dealer is one of the largest in Italy when compared with the competitors.

Naturally if we do not consider the cost of autocad because it is easy to get it on the net this is another speech, but wishing to have an official license also autocad must be considered in the price of the application.

You are perfectly right, practically everyone has a more or less new autocad installed, but there is also to say that most use autocad lt than I know it does not allow to use application type prosteel and advance steel.
Are you sure you can use the latest version of prosteel or advance steel with autocad 2008 or 2010?

That's why I don't know how these applications are integrated in the autocad environment.

this would be a good question to ask retailers to understand if there are any limitations of performance and maybe tools that only work with the latest autocad version.

Well, the last offer made to a collaborator (1 year ago) spoke of 17,000 + assistance (vary according to the version). We are more towards the 20s, it seems to me that towards the 10. And if to these I have to add 2000 every year for assistance...the wallet can be nothing but accordion. that I must tell you, with the times that run around here (as already said) blessed you that you can afford it. we work in five now and it would be almost impossible (even without the "almost"). . .

you are perfectly right the cost of tekla can reach the 20 thousand euros that are only 5 thousand more than the cost of an equal version of prosteel or advance steel.
I can however assure you that by spending that little extra you buy a software that is clearly superior and from harpaceas is provided a service service worthy of this name, not as the one given for prosteel that very often was unpredictable and little timely
