amd as they are against monopolies!

ssd boh?!, load always on the net, and then I prefer the carbon fork!
put at least one sas 15000 rpm if you do not want to put a solid-state disc.
a 7200 rpm is a bowl that only mounts on mediaworld notebooks.

but what's the 15,000-round disc for? on the current machine with disk at 7000 rpm windows starts in twenty seconds, and as I said load 3d files always and only from the server.

At the end, a 15,000-round record heats more and maybe it's more broken, but I don't understand where the decisive advantages are, better put 10 seconds more to charge the application in exchange for low energy consumption and silence. By the way, I put 16 gb of rams so I think swaps will never use it.

Moreover, even if the cad copies all files in %temp% transparently to the user, the bottleneck will always be in the network.

hunting that breaks before a sas is difficult, since they mount them on the servers.
I have 4 here and in over 5 years never a problem.
on silence, depends on the model.
some feel, others for nothing ... makes a lot more noise the cooling fan.
Maybe I have different needs.

Okay, but in the work scenario I described, what advantages would a record like that have to do with the magior cost?

You obviously have different needs.
I often open and close applications during the day.
when I work on reverse I do it locally, because the files to open are very heavy.
I noticed that ssds warm much less.

for these and other reasons I know that on workstations I will always use ssd.

.
You're right.

I currently load the project in the morning and leave it open until the evening when I close shack and puppets... .

I also recommend a ssd, at least for so, libraries and work directories (a secondary hd you can use it for backup or archive). with 100€ + iva an ocz agility 3 from 120gb you take it!

so contrary to the double core amd, the i7 has no rivals (but they are personal tastes).
Put a ssd on it, it's worth it!
quoto! maybe you don't get to the i7 which costs 4 or 5 times the cpu you chose, but an i5-2400 I see it better than the amd (parlo di cpu).

careful that 1866 memories are useless for an entry level system like this (graphic card apart), a speed of 1600mhz is more than enough! Currently the speed of the ram is a secodnary parameter (consider that the dual channal goes as the quad channel in real application cases).

1866 will give you a less advantage (in terms of speed) of 1%

about 790€ VAT excluded, to which add the amd v5900:

I think the carbon fork costs you more!

cmq (about monopoly) you would return to amd for the graphics card! in general the current amd range for processors is great for "office" use (excellent integrated graphics, superior to intel), but if you have to use (as required for a ws destianta al cad) a discrete graphics card (firepro or picture) so much it is worth pointing on a cpu intel.

but excuse for what reason you put a cpu of years ago, and for more dual core? at least one phenom x6, or otherwise, if you use only a few cores, choose a cpu with high frequencies and turbocore, the sandy bridge, or amd fx. for the card the 5900 is a good choice, consider that the firepros on nx are much faster than the picture, but I do not know if it has this characteristic in common with the older brother, search for benches, because sometimes the gap is considerable between firepro and painting.
quoting on solid state hard drive, you do not need to put files, but to load operating system and programs, which will be much more snappy

Because by experience the cpu is perhaps the least important thing in working with cad 3d, in favor of ram and graphics card. If I wanted to put to budget 5000 euro clearly I would have made another car, but I wanted to put limits and allocate most of the spending on the most significant components, and among them for my personal experience do not appear in the cpu.
all the cads I use are not able to parallelize the calculation, and I know that most of the time I pass by turning the model and zooming back and forth, while instead the fem analyses or the assemblies table with 10,000 components I do once a month.

It is not entirely true, with solidworks for example, once the graphics card has at least 1gb of memory and is certified (all firepros and all recent pictures), has performance that depend only on the processor, not only in regeneration, but also for video output.

I confirm that no cad at the moment can parallelize the regeneration because no kernel is multithread.

but I don't tell you that instead of I know, of the i7 2600k, you have to take a 3930 to six cores, here we are talking about a cpu to coal () spend 50-100 euros extra to take a more performing one, and you have no idea how many times the cpu, even on the vga, for a sw from thousands of euros seems to me the least, poor if.
between the intel and amd peaks from a look at the higher frequency ones and with turbulence, means that when using one or two core the frequency can reach almost 4 ghz by default, n times faster than an ultravetusto atlon.

hello to all, I have seen that you talk alternately about bicycles and pcs...for the first I can not be of help, while for the second, I was looking for a vs. advice! !
I submit a configuration of a pc:

- i7 2600k
- 16 gb ram 1600 kingstone
- ssd 128 gb kingstone
- hdd 500 gb 7200 rpm
- motherboard asus p8h67
- Atx 750w power supply
- dvd burner
- pny framework 2000
- windows 7 pro

the ssd disk is reserved only to s.o., hdd (a little tight, but with time you can implement with a second disk) for data and programs; all for approximately 1750,00 euri including VAT.

being out of the silicon world (see image on my profile), someone tells me that this type of i7, is nothing but an i5 “travestite”, because it does not manage more than two “channel” of memory...(what does that mean? ? ).
it would be better to adopt the i7 3820 or so series. What do you say? Do I take the disguise? ? ? ?

Hi.

ivan
On the contrary, it is the i5 to be an i7 with hyperthreading disabled!

ll 2600 at the moment is at the top among the quad cores, equal to 2700 and 3820 (the latter however has socket 2011, is a different speech, with higher overall costs).

according to me an i5 2400/2500 + 8gb of ram + ssd from at least 120gb + graphics card v4900/v5900 (all on platform 1155) at the moment are a "definitive" system for those who make design (possibly an i7 and more ram for computing needs).

at the limit you could wait at the end of April to have the successor to 22nm of the 2400/2500 with the release of ivy bridge, but they are small (10% difference at the maximum) so I do not know if it is worth waiting and paying 100-150€ extra.

Hi.
I also looked at the store, for a computer almost identical to yours.

the considerations I have made are as follows:

1) they told me that i7 has more enabled hypertrading, not how much it is worth in performance terms. switch to the top model of the i5 saves about 50-80 euros.

2) the ram costs little, do well to load so much. I don't know if it's worth pointing on more expensive rams than the standard product.

3-4) both cost a bang, the price of memories is very high right now.

8) beautiful. I didn't realize the difference between one distributor and the other. there are picture of asus, hp, etc, but all are picture nvidia 2000. What changes the adhesive?

p.
made eccezzione for the painting 2000, is exactly the same configuration so I had made the estimate. I had foreseen painting 600.

pny is the exclusive manufacturer/distributor for the retail sector, at least for Europe, I do not know if it is also valid in other world markets).
the hp, et similar frameworks are intended for the oem market or as parts/upgrade of the systems of the same brand.
In theory they should be identical to retailers (except for the warranty and assistance issue) even if "turn the voice" that have dedicated firmware (I believe little). .

I feel like a little 1750 euros for that configuration.
However for the question cpu always applies the speech of the used sw, we use always one that exploits only one core or two useless cores go on the esacores, but it is good to choose a cpu, possibly of last generation, that has that number of cores, or little more, but at high frequency with turbulence, if instead the sw is multitreading, then many more cores there are better. with maxwell render for example we will find that in many cases even a dual xeon eight core can be slow, because maybe we make a2 to 300 dpi. while modeling with catia would be more than enough an i7 2600.

I feel like a little 1750 euros for that configuration.
I agree but it is about in line with what they asked me for a very similar configuration.

p.
since a hard-disk with rotating disks from 1tb costs about as the 500gb one I know it's the biggest one.
