update carts automatically

Good morning to all,
I have sw2010 and I have the following problem:
the company has changed the carts. Is there a way to update them automatically (I thought about the task scheduler) without having to open them and reload the cart?

in the skeduler task there is no updated stationary item, I don't think it does with updated files.

How would you do that?

thanks to all

subwrite the old folder model file with the new one

No, I did. in fact if I make a new design the cartiglio is right. is to replace the cartilage in old drawings without reopening them. I don't think I'm going to charge the cartilage every time you open a drawing, you should have saved it inside, right?

If you do as you say I don't know how to do it since I have already replaced them, same folder and made a zip of the old.

have you opened the chart template file you used before modified it and saved? example cartiglio.slddrt you opened modified saved, and the cartilages on the other tables remain as before? mmm:confused:... I don't know how to help you, so I thought that was the process. . .

I don't know how to help you, I do it with the pdm if there's no option in task sckeduler I think it's your turn to do it by hand.

if instead the cartiglio had been a lock connected to the external file updating the block would have updated all the drawings (theory, never tested).

Okay, thank you all, I'll do it by hand, and I'll do some tests, maybe on some course I'll ask the experts.

Hello and thank you!

it does not work so, or rather, you can not do it linearly. modified the block forget to open any design and find the updated cartilage. a trick is to change the sheet size and then return to the original one. example:
1- change the cartilage.
2- I open a table in size a1 horizontal, for example, and check the format in a2.
3- I remove the format a1 horizontal. and at this point I find the updated cartilage.

I always do that. Has anyone tested less complicated procedures?
Hi.

Hello, I use this macro of mine to utlize with the open design.
I also have a batch working version on entire folders, but it is very customized so I can't post it

Hi.

I also do so... and that's what I wanted to avoid.
I don't know what to change to make it work. .and forward so...it is not a big effort after all.

I exhume this discussion because I find myself having to update the cartilage of a bunch of drawings. .
I found this interesting macro but I wanted to see if it was possible to develop it in order to automate all the super update I should do.

Hi.
I attach a little program that I developed for batch replacement of the cartilages (sheet formats).
the mask is very simple, I can import a complete directory, single boards, or drag them from windows explorer directly into the list.

- select the path where there are the replacement sheet formats.
- launch and watch solidworks do dirty work (or go home).

the only notice is that the substitution sheet formats should be called:
a0.slddrt
a1.slddrt
a2.slddrt
a3.slddrt
a4.slddrt

this is indispensable because when you find for example that the open table has the sheet size 210x297 (a4), you go to take the sheet size a4, and so on.

Hello everyone

I tried and it works perfectly! thanks jenuary! !

only 2 things:

1) I have drawings in subfolders, if I select the main folder does not see the drawings. is it possible to circumvent the matter?

2) in making the test I realized that my sheet formats are absolutely white, that is without cartiglio etc. Is that possible? I tried to open them individually and what changes is only the size... I also tried to save them again but nothing, always white. for this reason the program works perfectly but replaces me white sheets. Yet in solidworks everything works perfectly, i.e. when I change format in a drawing the paper is there. I have sw 2015 sp 5.0 64 bit.

the replaced sheet format is what you pass it, so if it is complete it must replace it complete.
you gave the right name to the sheet formats, so a0,a1,a2,a3,a4?

I've been using my program for years without problems, I think it can be from those.
to the limit if you can turn me a table and a sheet format.

ps. Is the drawing of your cartiglio drawn inside to "modify sheet size"? I guess so.

Let me know.

I did as you say, the fact is that I think your program has no problem because it does exactly what it has to do.

what I can't understand is because my .slddrt files in opening them directly sometimes appear without cartilage, other times appear with the cartilage.
the design of my cartiglio is designed inside to "modify sheet format", is the original one of solidworks that I modified over time.

I wouldn't want there to be some sw setting that goes into conflict or some bugs.

I'll run the files!

I saw the formats,
the problem you find in the a4, which are horizontal, the program searches for an a4o, but does not find it, the solution is very simple:

- copy paste the sheet format a4.slddrt
- rename it in "a4o.slddrt" (attention "or" is the letter not zero)

everything should turn

I had forgotten before saying that the recognised formats are:

a4o (297x210 horizontal)
a4 (210x297 vertical)
a3 (420x287 horizontal)
a2 (594x420 horizontal)
a1 (841x594 horizontal)
a0 (1189x841 horizontal)

bye:

everything turns! I tried and it's okay! But on a folder, at the end of the operation (complete successfully, I checked the carts individually), gave me an error message about the value of a parameter, maybe it's trouble I have with something so I send it to you for pm.

great program! thank you again!!

in the list you can drag all the files you want to explore with the paths even one different from another, so he climbs the same file.
You'll lose 2 minutes to throw in files, but you'll earn hours, it seems like a good compromise.
However I suggest you do not make lists longer than 150 files, because solidworks "saturated", the process of opening and closing for him and for the memory of the computer is heavy, I would not come that solidworks fell and you do not know at what point you had arrived with the replacements.

Hi.

I'm on my way! I write here so if it happens to others you know.
finished selecting the files, do not stay with any selected files in preview.. . otherwise you can give you an error (of course caused by permissions, probably depends on the version of operating system etc.. I don't know).

I select the files I need and then go out of the folder so as not to run into any errors.

great saving of time and defeat!
this forum with its extraordinary users is valuable!

ps: solidworks should however obviate to this problem.
