threaded means that from the inside of the submarine it is possible to "drive" the torpedo on the objective thanks precisely to this " umbilical cord" represented by an optical fiber cable.Who explains to me what "float" means? (exatem, obviously I have it mainly with you...)
I'm... I'm ashamed.
15km...what thread is it? size? weight? What's in it? information? power?
If the spool is on the torpedo, I imagine that the thread does not make any resistance, because it is "flow" than water...right?
but for the enemy not enough to intercept the wire to put ko the torpedo? and to mate with a wire of a few miles is not that it takes much... the coffee key works so... where am I wrong?
in a philanthropic torpedo the "guide signs" travel on very thin optical fibres contained within a sheath, connecting the "fish" to its pointing system. in the navigation to the target the torpedo releases behind if the guiding threads that are contained in its back, thus allowing the "pilot" to send corrections to the trajectory.
These are sophisticated weapons in which digital information flows in both ways. I'll explain.
- from submarine to to torpedo travel the commands on course and altitude, the submarine guides the torpedo in the area where it is believed to find the target.
- from torpedo to submarine return information from the sensors mounted on board the torpedo. the torpedo, thanks to them, reports to the submarine the situation regarding its position, contacts, etc.
We're on board a submarine and we've "snapped" a contact.
1. the submarine analyzes the data processed by its sensors to find the exact position and motion (hijack, speed, etc.) of the target to attack; Once safe, pass the data to the torpedo (through the thread) while the torpedo is still in its launch tube.
2. the torpedo is launched and begins its race towards the waypoint that has been set to him; the wire is quickly unrolled by continuing to receive orders (course changes, altitudes, etc.) according to the tactical situation leading it to the target.
3. when the torpedo, thanks to its sensors, certainly signals the smg to be close to the target, the smg activates the procedure of attack of the torpedo (from this moment the torpedo is only and follows its program). If something goes wrong, and the wire is always hooked, the submarine can regain control of the torpedo at any time.
if the thread is interrupted (for example breaks), from that moment on the torpedo keeps the last order received and follows its program.
for the rest explained "the aviator".
