part of the second edition of the international design award 'only for woman' dedicated this year to the design of a collection of outdoor seats.
'a chair in the green - the design for a better world' is the title of the contest launched by a declic area reserved exclusively for women designers: they can participate students and professionals who have turned 22 years.
you ask to design a collection of chairs for outdoors: armchair and sofa, chaise longue and poolside bed, chair (with and without armrest) and stool.
it is possible to present even one of these objects, the important thing is to find innovative proposals and solutions that can reduce the environmental impact in their production, use and disposal.
the choice of materials is left free, but it will be considered the proximity of the projects to the aesthetic and productive type of the company promotrice area declic (ferro or aluminum combined with plastic, wood, braces).
in the design phase particular attention must be placed in the selection of materials in order to minimize the presence of toxic substances, to incorporate recyclable or recycled materials into the product, to reduce the quantity and the types of materials used by employing materials compatible with each other during recycling.
even in the phase of production, the object of the contest must be designed in order to reduce the amount of waste.
in transport it is necessary to minimize the packaging used as a reusable packaging system.
the designer must keep in mind that during maintenance it must be easy to access the parts for their replacement and maintenance.
must be easy also to disassemble the components.
prizes will be awarded taking into account innovation, originality and clarity of design.
Projects must be sent by 8 March 2010.
the judgement of the jury is insindacabile and will be communicated by 2 April 2010.
the agency will distribute the following awards:
- 1st one thousand and 500 euros
- 2nd classified a thousand euros
- 3rd place 500 euro
