3d rotation of two-dimensional elements

Good morning.

I have to make a single-layer reticular roof. the supports are defined by pillars he 240m placed in the plant in a drawing attributable to an irregular polygon. I would like to proceed with some nurbs construction curves to be realized in the plant and to turn later around its axis in a 3d vision, but it is difficult to understand the operation of rotation. When you work in 3d you have to use the 3d slider (in the shovel is next to that 2d) , of course in the snap shovel must be active that related to objects.
