Hi.
I'm trying to figure out what might be an inexpensive but effective program to design the interior, with a large library of models for furniture. I have a furniture store and have some programs provided by the various kitchen firms, day-night area etc. only that obviously among them do not read. It's time to find a single program that allows me to work the 360° interior........ ! !

Can you give me some advice?

Thank you.

I recommend sketchup, there is also the free version, it is very suitable for interior design and there is also a library of furniture, objects and anything else on the net that you can download for free.

thanks for the answers,
I do not necessarily seek something free, working as a furniture dealer I would need something that has a really large library and photorealism. I imagine there are companies that produce specific products, but on the net I couldn't find anything convincing.
the working times do not allow me to model objects ad hoc (I can only do so from time to time). apart from programs dedicated to specific sectors (e.g. those that kitchen companies offer to retailers), what I look for is a program that covers all parts of the house with a good quality to render.

sketchup can use a network of very extended models online google warehouse. are also available for sk many engines to render, even realtime, such as lightup, therefore also animations.
otherwise you could take a look at moblia, is free but professional.

ot- tristan I wanted to ask you, do you think inventor fusion will converge in 123d? I'm trying and it's useful to change rhino solids, but it's not yet at the same level I think. Today unfortunately if you can only use it with high-end sw, it is not even compatible with inventor lt, I hope in the future that at an affordable cost, you could use it for direct modeling, I hope you develop 123d, or if you sell it separately, you have news about it?

hello stephamemkov, for a period of time I also worked as a designer in the furniture industry.
I believe it is to be made immediately a distinction between design and design, regarding furnishing. This depends on the structure where you work, are you a shop, or are you also producers (magari with machines c.n.c.)?

in the case of design a parametric cad program for mechanics among the best known goes well. so you can create your "free" of furniture, and/or families, but above all import the models of the hardware (from the various popular catalogs, type hafele), and give the production a design ready to be realized.
Moreover, these packages have a respectful rendering environment, with which results can be obtained far beyond the purpose for which they were thought.

I don't understand when you say you need ready-made furniture libraries. I've never seen a furniture like another. Maybe a model previously designed, served as a departure for a later one, but it was never equal, neither as size, nor as hardware, but above all for finishes.

at the end, however, what matters is to impress the customer, not so much to sell it "smoke", but to have the ability to contextualize the product, within its environment/house/local.
therefore beyond the design, counts the visual impact, and here no mechanical software, manages to approach the result obtained with a 3d such as "3ds max", "cinema 4d" and others.
the problem if ever it is represented by the learning curve of the software itself and the economic investment machine+pack 3d.

At this point you have to weigh the two aspects: production + final idea of the product, rather than visual impact "pure". in the company were very oriented to the aesthetic part of the thing, but did not know what it meant in terms of investment. ..after three estimates (hw + sw + training) decided for the most production oriented part, since behind the commercial structure there was the carpentry.

then we know that appetite vien eating, so it has gone from considering programs cad 3d from €2000, to the €6000 which allowed to space also in fields, not related to the core business.

all speech is valid for non-free software, otherwise, wait for some other answer.

depends, solidworks has the eve of rendering luxology way, and available as maxwell render plugin. Besides various engines can import cad files, such as keyshot or shot (iray) . catia integrated iray etc.

certain news not, but since if it is a technology preview of the labs will sooner or later "promoted" (or thrown) and transmuted into commercial or free product (see galileo, graduated in infrastructure modeler or photofly confluito in 123d catch). in 123d there is already so much of if even if it is still very unstable. iho with the next fy autodesk will release 123d r1 compatible with autocad, as it is now if. we will see. . .

@frasco...in fact, these seem to make of the early 90s, very poor; In fact, often their poor quality, it could even remove the most undecided customer.
to make interiors well done, just look in google, some look like photographs.
@enriclear, adding plug-ins, add-ons etc., we can go everywhere, but at what cost, and how long? ?
the package at least for the first times must be nice and finished, then with time you will see.

bè on eight thousand euros of cad, 800 for a engine do not seem so many, maxwell is simple to use, and photoview is included, and is of very high level.
However many use other sw like the ones you've specifcato.

@tristan-in fact I noticed the other day catching was photofly, it seems to me a great thing.

I understand what you mean by "creating models", but I don't think I have the material time to do it. I have a furniture store and I take care of the commercial part. There are certainly dedicated programs where you already find the bookcases of objects divided by company, model, finishing and even price to realize a quote.anni or are going for the greater a certain ambient giotto that I don't know if it still exists, interesting since while drawing you were able following the choices to prepare a quote and even an order form to send to the various companies. in practice the company that produced it was involved in providing models and updated lists of several companies, certainly not all, but the most known ones yes. The set-back editors were quite simple, which, if it was good 8-10 years ago, today no longer allows to approach that kind of program.
I mean, it would take a mix of management and graphics with a good ability to make.

You have to ask individual companies if they have the models available, otherwise I don't see how you can view an environment with other furniture instead of those purchased, it's the only way.

in some companies I have seen applications developed ad hoc, where the furniture was completely parameterized, even in accessories, compared to the modules present in the catalog. in the margin of all this, you had the famous rendering years 90 :frown:.
an account is to formulate an offer of a furniture and get a distinct "base", another is to show it to the customer in an attractive way.

is right when he says that you have to turn to the individual firms that provide you with furniture, provided that they have "freedoms" of 3d rendered objects.

the individual firms do not have much as single exportable items; many offer their program with models, prices, listines etc., but the render is bad and among different firms often do not work with the same format, do not read, do not integrate....Isomma a madness. composer I know, it could be a solution.

hi, I also have a shop of furniture and autocad use and I made a big mistake because now that I understand more or less the limits (in modeling) I do not want to learn another
I have a tide of bookstores but I have to tell you that if what I have to do is not very complex I do first to recreate it than to look for.
among the libraries I often use there are kitchens with appliances and sofas.
said this I recommend you to learn one that is specific to modeling, since you have the will to learn, if you go back: 3dstudiomax or comparisons without fail to think about a moment.
I think it is useless to waste time learning how to use a program that, in my view, will show limits.

greetings

Your reasoning isn't wrong, maybe I should convince myself that I'm looking for something that doesn't exist... or the program is management or rendering!
