Hello
I have to manage a model of a building complex consisting of 3 distinct and separate bodies made in as many rows revit by another technician (architectural+structural+implantistic part).

I wanted to ask you if my way of proceeding was correct:

starting from a new model file and loading the 3 files/body via revit links.
I therefore have a "complete" file but without interacting with the possible changes and updates operated by the other technical (jealous technique of its template files).
I create so all the abachi that I need (part from the structural side that is the simplest and most linear one: foundations, structural columns, floors/sols, metal carpentry, cutting walls)
But (there's always one though) I unfortunately realized that I do not have a fast question of the abacated elements!
as if I try to look for an element in the abacus in one of the views (dx + show/show) it does not allow me to see it as in this new file I only have linked models! ! !
so I have no immediate visual control of the elements of the abacus!! !
is this an operational way of proceeding?
or do I have to pursue other ways to collaborate in team?

a last question to those who certainly have more experience than me!

I have to compute the carpentry to realize the structural columns
the area/surface heading out for structural column elements in the abachi refers to the surface of the whole parallelepiped which is the column (so including the foot area and pillar head)?
Right? How should I do to have a compute of the "finish" surface to charge the carpentry?

thanks in advance:redface:

hi, I can give you help in the carpentry part if the model was made with technometal, as it has the function to import/export into revit directly creating the families. If those who made you the carpentry model did it with our software send you instructions to make the import and give it to him to do the export.

I'm sorry, I didn't say anything.
I mean, I need a column to bring back
the surface for the crates of the columns in c.a.!!!
However thanks for the help @tautor but has not been modeled with your software but all in revit.
the real structural calculation phase does not know what they are using.
but it is not my task
