I should create a sort of snap-fit coupling where my needs are a little atypical...
the component works in 2 phases : the first requires a coupling that can guarantee me a seal for at least 5 years under a constant load (a spring) that “push” with f=450 gr.
phase 2 consists in the “setting” of the 2 x and y arms in order to free the component at the moment when a and b are “wrapped” by another element that moves axially from above to below.
my needs are those that the material will have to be plastic (pom or pp or other depending on the structural calculations that will emerge) and that the effort to move out of the seat the 2 arms during phase 2 will have to be as little as possible.
last constraint (and problem) are the dimensions... the height of the arms can be at the maximum of 7 mm, the width around 2-3mm....
I would kindly ask for a hand to whom he will want to determine:
1. more appropriate material (considering creep )
2. sizing of arms (h-s-l)
3. tooth size acting as a block (r-p-β)
4. any warnings to which to pay attention.
allego schizzettini made in word (which struggles to draw with I am so....) as on this pc I have nothing more functional.
I look forward to your analysis.
I'm going to sleep now.
thanks in advance
greetings

Hello and welcome.
also for you I remember that you must present yourself in the forums!!!! !
and first read the rules.
on the solution to your problem I would say that the thing is not so simple (even if I am not one who works with plastics).
But how many times do you have to drop the piece?
a tantum?
Hi.

thanks to the bonario...I have provided to introduce myself in the appropriate section (...spero). . .
to answer your question I confirm that the release will take place 1 time only....unfortunately I know that the problem is not at all simple but if I do not find a help even on a forum like this... I know that the situation is really grey.. .
I can copy/paste the same message also in the section dedicated to plastic? I don't want to do things not allowed. . .
thanks to those who will try to help me. .
soon

hi, as a rule you cannot post doubles in the forum. If you put two equal discussions you risk finding double answers. Better than not.
We wait for someone to answer.
I admit this is not a simple solution. Perhaps it is a question not from forums, in the sense that here it takes an expert on the subject.
We hope there's someone.
Hi.

thanks to the always courteous answer gerod.. The question is not simple but I was equally confident that someone could at least give me the ambush. .
Anyway, I'm waiting, and in the meantime, I give it to me. .
See you soon!

If it were steel I could give you a hand willingly, for what you can do on a forum.
We hope there's someone listening.
and make a calculation with some software (type ansys)?
