I do it simple, I need to know before I go to production, the weight of my piece drawn in catia v5.
First of all, there is a command where you can add the material?
If I wanted to create a material that isn't on the list, can I create one? If so, how?

menu/view/barra of instruments/apply the material (if selected, the icon appears below)
The icon represents a ball and an arrow pointing towards a cube, selecting the material selection window.

select the material and then the part or body on which you want to apply the material.

the weight is measured with the inertia measurement icon (in weight form, in fact)

care that to have valid measures, you must apply it on solids, otherwise on the surfaces returns invalid values for the mass (or that I do not understand)

apply the material, select it and with right-click/property modify it as you need.

always try to build a (meter)cube and measure it to check if everything works.

That's quite simple. the shortest way is that I copy you a property of some material and save it by the name of the material you need. where in c:\program files\dassault systemes\b22\win_b64\startup\materials\italian.
Of course, as administrator, it's more fun.
