advice : autodesk vault x free professionals (by itself)

Good evening,
I installed vault basic for more accurate management of files, can do targeted searches and copy design.
Unfortunately I realized that for the type of my work I cannot use it, I explain better.
They are alone and like everyone (I believe) , work in the office with the fixed and with the laptop I go to the customers, having an exact replica of the files from fixed and portable first through the nas now through vault. the problem lies in the fact that if I go to a place (as it happened) where there is no internet, in fact I can not edit files with the laptop because being the files archived and vault offline. so I should make copies of the files, edit them and return to the office manually update the files in the vault with all case problems and useless time loss. I don't know if someone uses vaults and has my own needs and maybe it solved somehow. At the moment as the only solitude I see losing the vault and continuing as before through nas, which has never given me problems of wrong overwriting of files or other problems.

with the vault, the correct procedure to use/change files when you go to customers is as follows:
1) on the fixed pc archives the project
2) from laptop reopens project
3) go wherever you want, even without the internet, if necessary change the files
4) return to office you reconnect to the vault and update the project

Hello thanks for the answer. exact the vault server is installed on the fixed.
the problem that if I go to a client with the laptop, to edit the file I have to extract it from the vault and if it is not connected it does not allow me. Therefore I should make a copy of the file and in the office extract it, then replace it and re-archive it but surely it will create some problem, but apart from this, it is an activable procedure if it is separate files and few, but a set if ondoe. becomes a slaughter. At least the test I did gave this problem, if you have a different experience I would gladly listen to you, I would hate not to be able to use the vault, even if I am alone it is convenient to me.

It is not clear to me if you have left some passage in your explanation.

the point is that you have to extract the project from the laptop before going to the customer, when you return to the office or cancel the extraction or update the project.
if you do so you do not need a network connection for changes. of course you have to have all the necessary files for changes in your laptop.

I have understood, but it happens quite often that I withdraw plans already completed, to make changes and I can't extract everything every time and I can't even say sorry, but you have to tell me exactly what you want to talk about. Unfortunately it is too limiting the use of the vault with this type of use.

I also believe that it is better to leave the vault, there are more complications than benefits, of course, as I should use it. for those who do not have these particular needs in my opinion is very useful , I used it for 10 years when I was addicted, never a problem and management is enormously simplified. Well, I tried, but not every donut comes in the hole.
