If you just want to do 'practice', one is worth the other, a few years ago I preferred mastercam but in the last versions they have changed a lot.
potentially master and solid if they play it, visualmill I don't know it.
If you have to buy it then it's another thing, you have to see what packages you need... and how you need them.
of mastercams you will certainly find many more resources on the net.

hi, modeling with sw is one thing and preparing a .cn file is another.
I deal with amateur robotics, I program microchip micros, I prepare pcb and step-by-step engines. of mechanics I know enough and with sw you plan well, but the final drain, for a possible prototyping, is the software cam. solidcam also offers a course, although in English, of how to use their product with so much of files downloadable free from the lesson. It is well done! then, the playful moment, that you can see the machine in 3d at work, is a sloppy. the drain is to understand the tools and all parameters related to the processing. a nice jump.. I searched for some site in itraliano that explained all these steps but I found nothing.

from what I have well understood you would like to build a cnc and try to make prototypes at amateur level, what I do not understand is if the software you would buy, since it seems a little carp for a hobbyist.
about tools you need to download material from the manufacturer's site, like catalogues, etc. , there is usually a part about applied technology, but remember that a very discriminating factor for tools is the type of machine they work on, especially for the most modern and expensive ones.
However the machine in 3d at work is not exactly a playful moment, to tell the truth should be the test of the nine because it avoids you to do a few thousand euros of damage by controlling you any collisions.
