.....to try to reconstruct a mathematics starting from a basic mesh (very large and pesdante).
I have reduced polygons a little but I can't manipulate anything, I would like to insert small surfaces on mesh....but as it is heavy I struggle to work.
How can I cancel a part? I tried to expulde it but the machine plant (calculating too long).
The mesh is about 80000 polygons, but if I could split it, it would probably be 20000 and I could work there.
p.s.: simplifying polygons makes me lose too much precision.

Maybe you have a little ram on your pc, and from there the problem can arise with mesh "corpose".

My laptop (which is certainly not a monster) with 2 gb d ram allows me to work easily with mesh having a 5 times greater polygon than you mentioned.
I begin to have slow problems when I work on mesh from a million polygons up.

I'm saying this because if you only have a 1gb of installed rams, you'll have to be patient waiting for the operations I'm going to list to be completed.

under the menu "mesh->edit tools" find the commands that allow you to cut, split any mesh.
only warning, do not use simple curves as cutting objects.
created a superfice that intersects the mesh at the points where you want it to be subdivided, and then transforms into mesh also the created surface.
rhino manages better in trim operations when using mesh with mesh.

nb - exploding mesh is something to avoid like the plague:
