apertura files solidworks

It seems strange, but with inv2011 I can't open a .sldasm file, or rather, when I open it inside there is nothing.. .
The strange thing is that the preview is right.. .
in the options I put "solid laws, surfaces and wireframes.... "
with adobe 3d reviewer I open it without problems, I take it in step and after 1 hour I can open the step in inventor..

Does anyone help me?

1) what version of sw is the file?
2) iv2011 supports the opening of that version?

p.s:the preview is nothing but a bmp image stored in the file.

the preview I think read it from a jpg embedded in the file. the problem often is that the software with which amount is unable to find the search paths.

edit: or bmp, I had not read the suggestion of soliduser

Okay for the preview, I didn't know... .
cmq, with adobe 3d reviewer tells me that the design is made with solidworks 2007
and on the help of inv2011 says that the versions are 2003-2010....

the axieme in solidworks is nothing but a container of solidworks parts.
the solidworka axieme opens the parts and places them in the axieme through the functions used in the environment together.
Do you have parts in the solidworks axieme folder?
Can you open the parts individually?

I don't have the parts, I only have the file together.. I also thought I should have the parts as with inventor.. .

but then, as does adobe 3d reviewer to open the overall, to convert it into step, to display in the tree the various parts etc...

that is the parts must be incorporated in the overall because adobe sees them, probably inv instead needs the parts for the references. . .

The reasons can be 2:
1) the solidworks assembly file is not in version 2007, so it could contain virtual parts stored in the file together, but a version that your inv does not support
2) you didn't tell us everything you could understand the situation.

even solidworks without the parts does not open the assemblies.
