Hello everyone,
Someone would explain to me how to create and use an image to be applied on a surface (with aspects and colors) so that a completely perforated sheet is simulated, so that you can see what is under it.

the option of directly making a perforated sheet is to be discarded because already doing 200 holes employs 1 hour to generate them and the surface that I would like to cover would use more than ten thousand holes.

suggestions?

Thank you very much

you have 2 ways:
apply a texture (you also find it on google) and use a color of appearance with decreased opacity (the texture however must have the neutral color of the holes, otherwise then you do not see us through).
create a cosmetic feature only in a corner to have the geometry for grill drilling and apply the color of appearance less opaque as in the above.

I tried to use a black and white texture with some forms of holes, I guess I didn't adjust the color to make only the inner part transparent.
Do you have any idea what color you need to put inside the hole?

Thank you.

you have to work with a program for images, the color that to give for transparency, should be a neutral.

tried this too and I also tried to save the images in different formats but the appearance always remains with the matte holes
Do you have any other ideas to recommend?

Thank you.

have you tried to see if there is something useful already ready between the basic textures?

for completely perforated sheets, I usually create a scketch at the table for the geometry of the drilling, then change the transparency of the sheet, so as to see us through and insert a density consistent with the type of sheet.

So I could also make a surface and make it colored transparent? for example grey-blue if galvanized
so the sheet would cover what I have inside but would see the same inside

it is a trick that I use since the night of time, when even the textures were heavy for pro-e (2000i), it is not beautiful, but does its work.
then very useful are the cosmetics that can be projected and follow the trend of a sheet for development, then the traces with the laser for welding of components in particular positions, or paths tools for processing that in 3d is not worth representing.

perfect, then I will use this method since I only need it as visual representation

Thanks again
