Hi.
you know if on sw2019 you can apply the depth to a decomposed section?

Thank you.
Hi.

Hey, you mean this?
made with solidworks 2017, if that's what you're looking for, I'd say it's possible with 2019 as it's possible with 2020 as well.
If I misunderstand your question, excuse me.
Hi.

by its very nature, in which there is no cutting plan, the decomposed section can be defined only with a depth and there are only two ways: to give a dimension or to use a reference. There are no other ways.
when opening the property manager of the decomposing section the possibility to use the size is quite clear, so I hope @strudeldimele meant the depth in which the section acts and then have the same option that you have in the normal section.

what you see in your images is the standard operation of the decomposed section; you can do giving or a reference or a depth; in any case you have to access the property manager and it is impossible not to see the cell in which to insert a size.
if you want to get a result similar to that of section depth of the classical section It's not possible.

It would be interesting that strudermele intervened by saying whether it was what he was looking for or not.
who knows, perhaps his question refers to the impossibility of entering a depth if you select a border (red arrow) rather than giving a depth in the appropriate box that becomes gray, therefore not editable, selecting a border.
As the question is formulated, it is interpretable.

Hi.
I think you can't do what I want (see image); that is a section that does not pass on a line, but that follows a path to which to give depth; I saw that if I create a simple sez giving depth and then I change the sketch, it keeps the setting but you do not see the part correctly.1614259433982.webpthanks anyway for the availability, it is always very welcome.
greetings

that is a section that does not pass on a line,
That is not a decomposed section.
what you asked is also found in online guideof which the interested extract:depth
allows you to set the depth of a view in section up to the specified distance. this control is only available for section views whose cut line consists of only one line segment.

I had seen, but I create/pro-e does it and being the father of sw I hope there was a way to bypass the problem, after all if I change the sketch after applying the depth to a normal sez, remains the depth but only of the straight section

I don't even know if he's a distant relative. . .
