hi to all, I have a doubt about how to act about the migration of a rather nurtured number of files, i.e.: I have to "move" part of the archive in the company where I work at a branch.
in order

drawings of axioms and related axioms 3d
sub-axis 3d
3d parts and parts drawings

Obviously also normalized.

I would like to know if there is a road, starting from the axieme, to move everything that concerns it to another location keeping the relations between assemblies/parts/signs.

Probably science fiction....ideas?

if you carry out a simple copy-paste of the files it works with the limitation that a set automatically searches for parts and sub-assemblies.
otherwise there is the pack-and-go that allows you to copy a set and all its components wherever they are (you ask the program where to search) with its links (taviole and annalis included). the problem is that you copy everything in one folder, or copy the entire server address, recreating all subfolders from the main serving. It is more convenient to see the two methods.
I assume that with a pdm it would be much easier. . .

I have no pdm unfortunately. the pack and go I exclude it: Most of the assemblies share subaxes, parts and drawings of parts....I would go to create folders inside which I will find almost all the parts that are in the other folders.

the trouble is that I only have to move some files that now reside in the network folders and so I can't think of copying everything: I have to rule out what is not needed to create axioms and drawings.

rather it is not clear to me and intrigues me this passage:

"or copy the entire server address, recreating all subfolders from the server's main"

Could you say in other words, please? I'd be very grateful.

I used that option once, in this case:
We had to go to a client to show him a project and so I needed the whole project on a laptop. In that case from the laptop I made a pack and go of my project and to not have all the files in the same folder (it's something I hate...) I tried this option. the result was that within the folder I specified for the copy I was created not only the subfolders in which the details were involved in the pack and go but the whole set of folders of the server, including higher folders.
if my copying set is in this position
c:\server\progetti\sw\clientex\codexyz
with various subaxis present in subfolders, and I want to copy in
c:\documents\codexyz
in reality my will do something like this
c:\documents\codexyz\server\progetti\sw\clientex\codexyz

for this I told you about this possibility, as it recreates exactly the location of all files. I think, but you should do some tests, that running some pack and go can allow you to recreate part of the server in a different location.
I hope I helped you!
greetings

I also confirm, there are only those two solutions and nothing else. It is also true that if you change location you could first open the assemblies and look for "hand" the component. ..but no doubt it is not done for a considerable number of parts/axis.

If you handle as much as possible the folder levelles do not notice swx you moved the stuff.

example:

having the drawings of the commission in
e:\disegni\clientea\codicemacchina\sw\
and the common trade material to all in
e:\disegni\commercio\

It is enough that anywhere you copy exists the drawing folder with customers and commerce. but also there is no drawing folder but also a different level where customers and business are not the second directory. at this point opens a customer set where there is a trade component, specifies where it is and also for the other files will be automatically (for which magic you do not know) there.
