hi to forum readers.
precise that I am a new member of the forum and I fear to be a presumption to open a new discsussion: If so, I ask for venia. but curiosity is stronger than any remote.
the problem that fascinates me is to create, with inventor, the imprint for a mold; at my disposal I have the model of the final product (I attach the interest straw in step and pdf format) and my task is to create the two parts of the mold.

I tried in various ways, but I can't find the route to the port. before opening the discussion I ran various searches in the forum but, in the mold item, I found nothing.

I hope I have not contravened any rule of the formun. I only applied myself to solid modeling only for a few months and that I am doing my bones on the 2008 version.

Thanks for the help you can give me
greetings

If I understand you have the final product model, then do this:
you create two separate parts to and b (larger than your model) then create a new set where you first put your model and then the two parallelepipeds to and b so that the big face of oguno is bound with the half-work plan of your model and in such a way that you should make a "panino" to mean us (a-modello-b sce in your way that you do not parallel.
At this point, you're part of a drift.
in the first you hold, you will remove the model and exclude b
in the second you hold b, you will remove the model and exclude to

so you have the two derived parts that are nothing but the male and female molds of your model.

I hope to be a state of help.
if you have the guidance of the pruners this procedure is explained well.

Hi.

hi, besides what you said davide I wanted to add things
the particular from you posted to some tabs in the subframe that need trolleys and a profile mold
So in my opinion, (I don't know inventor but I think the process is similar x all cad) you should decide the mold closing line and then extract the external surfaces with which you will go to cut the parts as indicated in the previous post
I attach 2 tests that I have done with the matrices the carts and the surfaces
n.b attention the tests are only x let you understand the procedure, there are many parts without disfaction and some in subsquadro and the same mold can be conceived in 100 different ways
