stò designing a machine that must respond, among other things, to the requirements atex (zone 2).ora, our consultant who deals with risk analysis and safety tells us that you can use as surface treatment of the details concerned the cold galvanization, while our supplier of chains carry you provides us with a chain with the supports in aisi 304, because, to its said, the galvanization does not meet the requirements required by the norm in question.

I recommend that you consult the en 80079-36, harmonized with the atex: non-electric appliances intended for use in explosive atmospheres (and other similar standards, also in the en 60079 series).
a definitive answer on the galvanization cannot be given, depends on the analysis of the risks of the system: if it is used only as anti-corrosion protection of metal parts (also in contact but firm between them) and if these are "debtedly" grounded, there should be no particular problems.
