Forgive me if I resume a subject already dealt with but in the discussions I found there were no answers I was looking for.
I have a serious problem with a supplier that now requires me to create drawings of all the perforated tubes I sent to him in step.
it is about 150 types. . .
to avoid making mistakes I would simply import the step files that I sent to the supplier (they are independent and are not susceptible to any involuntaries
moving holes caused by activation/disactivation of external references) and creating relative designs with appropriate automatic views and quotations to speed the most
possible process.
I would like to know, before I venture, if this procedure can be corrected and if possibly there is a faster system:
1) I open the step file of each tube with automatic recognition of functions (if I do not proceed to the recognition of functions I think the automatic quotation of the design
non-competitive functions);
2) I create a new design of the part with appropriate views;
3) start the automatic quotation function through the "smart quotation" button (problem! why the quotation is activated only and exclusively on one of the 4/5 views present in the sheet? ? ? )
4) Once I complete the table I make copy and paste of the sheet then I go on the new sheet and from the parent view I make "replace pattern" (dx button) and change the reference of the part file so in theory the table should already be in place.
that you know there is a better method than this?
