I don't think you can do it.
Maybe knowing the reason you can find a solution

maybe, but I have never tried or intend to do it (it would mess up all the icons on the desktop, probably), you can do with nview of nvidia, creating an ad hoc desktop... the "problem" is that on view I believe that nview is only available with picture cards... while xp should also be installed with gamer card drivers.
