what I don't understand is why both machines and gears have a shortage of complete texts.
For example, it seems to me that even for the calculation of gears the bibliography still refers to texts of more than 30-40 years ago. the problem is that after a certain time these texts are not only not updated, but are no longer available, it is an example of the book: "the resistance of the gears" of castellans and zanotti (1987) that updated the calculations of henriot and that is now introvabile.
