leed certification, which aims to change the way of building, is a voluntary and consensus-based system, for the design, construction and management of high-performance sustainable buildings and which is developing increasingly internationally; can be used on every type of building and promotes an integrated design system that covers the entire building. since its first processing in 1998, leed has grown to include more than 14,000 construction projects in more than 50 states of U.S.A. and 30 other countries covering 99 km2 of developing areas.
