good evening to all, I wanted your opinion on an aluminum openable box with 1mm thickness.
an acquaintance bought a car tow on which he can rest a 1200x600x1000 box and would like it to become bigger so that he can use it when he goes camping.
I attach a draft of the idea but I am not convinced of the resistance (open would become 2400x600x2200), I have doubts about the hinges and the side doors (below will be reinforced with a base).
Besides, do you think you need more to strengthen the box?

the lower part is 1200x650x1000 which develops in height with plates of 1200x300 (4 plates) tied with hinges to have a total height of 2200. inside the box there is another box with a lower part of 1200x640x950 and develops in the same way as the first (the idea is to parade it in such a way as to have a 2400 long box). I thought I would put pockets locked from three sides to insert steel bars so as not to bend the " accordion" (positioned inside and outside the base)
