break-out section view

I have noticed that, to quote and make visible only a part of a particular data is not used a true section (section view command) but a partial section (command "break-out section view"). I tried to make several attempts including to go to insert a line on the view with the command "expand member view" to try to give a limit to the section I want to create but no hits went to sign.
moral of the fairy tale... help me.
Could someone of you explain to me when and how do you get a section of this type? ?
