calculate the perimeter of broken lines

Hello, everyone.

I make laser cutting quotes.
I have the need, several times a day, to calculate the perimeter of various lines (lines, splines, of everything).
normally use region and then list (elenca).
However if one or more lines are interrupted the region is not made.

now I ask you if
a) there is another method to have the perimeter/path of the lines, or
(b) if there is a way to combine these lines, even in an approximate way, to make the region

if you have solved with the lisp well, otherwise with the _boundary command I would regrow a polylinea or a region from a contour (also to segments) if the contour is open displays you with a red circle the point where it is opened, so you can close it.

This seems to me already from the 2010 version of autocad but I'm not sure.
