calculation volumes for documentation to be submitted

in recent days I was trying to deepen the use of "masses" on revit.
it seemed to me to understand, that in addition to a preliminary "conceptual" modeling can also be used for functions such as volume calculation.

Now I ask myself: It is possible to calculate the volumetrics by disposing the shape of the building into simple figures (rectangle, triangles, etc...) just as is done for the joint presentation ? (demonstration of the calculation)
and with an abacus, for each one, calculate surface and volume?

the first thing that comes to mind is to do it manually, a mass every "simple figure". and then quote everything... But is there no way to do it automatically?

distance quotation is manual. if necessary, the "provisional" quota can be activated which is edited during drawing
the total surface and volume is automatic, using the appropriate mass labels
