The reason why rhino can't read it is that this is not a step file but well in acis (satellite) format created by solidworks.
Just open the file with notepad to realize it... :smile:

rhino exports to acis (sat) format but does not read them.

if you get data files from solidwork you can get them in native format, rhino reads the formats sldprt and sldasm
