Hello.
I often use hardcopy to capture the images and save them as .jpg, .gif etc.

with hardcopy I can also highlight some areas of the image with circles, rectangle elisses in red, yellow etc.

What I can't do is write about the text's image directly and place arrows like in .ppt.

what do you use and what do you recommend me as free software?

thanks to everyone for the answers

powerpoint costs.
openoffice.org simpress is free, and also exported to pdf.
I use that.

but I have a question:
hardcopy, is it free also for commercial use?

I use excel to make round ellipses arrow texts and what else.
then take off in paint and save as jpg.
I also save the copy in excel for a future change.

hi, right now I'm using "ashampoo magic snap 2" that we found a few months ago as free on a cd of a well-known pc newspaper , I think it's possible to download the free version also from the site , it's just what you're looking for, you can save the image in the formats you want and before saving it insert notes, arrow texts, highlighting etc.... simply fantastic. He's saving me a lot of time here at work.

also pdf-viewer (free also for commercial use) is a good program to make annotations, drawings, quotas etc.; However, it requires that the input file is a .pdf, while it can export to other graphic formats.
