chains tolerances / stackup analysis

I would have a question about the management of chains of tolerances in catia v5.
in the office we have always calculated the tolerances of assemblies and related chains manually, but now we find ourselves doing increasingly complex stackup analysis. any of you rely on software to do this?
for example the dmu toleracing review package is useful?
or are better third-party software (googlando I found 3dcs variation analyst) connected as catia plugin?

I would also need experiences about it, we are evaluating several software that seem to be the state of art in the analysis of the chains of tolerance: cetol, 3dcs. how did you find yourself?
