change icons buttons

This morning igniting the pc I found the buttons icons changed in the physiognomy.
many icons have been replaced by squares and description as you can see in the two photos .... before and after.
How do I restore?

the mystery is revealed.
igniting today the pc , window asked to reboot the disk, and after 20 minutes of work and correction of errors the pc has magically and the cat icons are back as original!!!! mysteries of faith.

However it is a typical sign of problems with catsettings. you better back up and if you need, you can copy them to the appropriate folder.

I can't find the catsettings folder anymore. I have 7 pros.

moves a toolbar in cv5
take the time of change
Close up
Open explorer
do a search based on the time of change
you will find the folder that contains the files modified at that time
