change of config.win

hello to everyone, they are struggling with a problem related to the modification of config.win. I use the wildfire4 m140. Therefore, I add a new drop-down menu, I renounce it, so I put inside it a series of commands related to mapkeys I have previously created. at the end of the operation except my config.win. then I close pro/e and, in the boot directory, I replace the veccchio config.win with what I just created. everything is regular, except that when I relaunch pro/e and read the new config.win, this is completely different from how I set it, even it is different from the previous modification (no icons, some toolbars are not displayed, some icons are not where they should be). If you save the config.win in the boot directory you don't need to overwrite it, I think you commit some error in this operation.
as regards macros (mapkeys), these should be saved in the config.pro.

Thanks for the answer. I know that there is no need to overwrite config.win and that every time you change it creates an incremetal (.1, .2, etc.). the fact is that we have several clients pointing to a single config.pro and config.win; the two files are in fact allocated in a shared directory of our server. However, each client has its own pro/e boot directory (on its own workstation). now, as I am changing the config.win directly from one of the clients, I go to save it in the local boot directory and this I think is the problem; in the sense that I noticed that the file that save locally is not complete (opening the file with a known text editor that has about 3,000 lines compared to the more than 12,000 of the original file). then I just tried to save the modified file by saving it directly into the shared directory on the server (so creating an incremetal of the original file) and the edit went to good end. I have to say that you have to save the modified file in the same directory where the original is located, but it is my guess.

Yes, there is only the config.pro "generic", no config.win. On the other hand, I noticed that, even if I save the config.win manually and in the correct path from the "personalization" window, when I go out from pro/e it comes out strangely (but success with wf3,wf1 or 2001) the same warning message "the settings of the window have changed and will be lost.". If I answer "Save" again this second time (I responded "nothing" because I did not make changes after saving) things improve, but the problem does not completely disappear. I go to the bar where there are icons and click on "commands..." or "bars of tools..." and I see that it always opens the same dialog box, except for the tabs that are active.
However going on the linghuetta "commandi" I see that at the bottom of categories it appears to me "new menu" and clicking on it next in commands appears to me "new menu" and "new free elem".
I think the structure of the menu can be in one of these 2 but there is no way to change them because under "modification selection" is all disabled.

how do I change the structure of the drop-down menu?

to add/remove commands from a drop-down menu you must use the tools>customize screen command (in Italian should be tools>customize screen to something like that). opens the popup with the various commands and for a possible command you want to add, you must first locate it in the tab < commands > (it should be < commands > in Italian) maybe by browsing through the various categories; after finding the command you need, drag the relative icon from the popup directly into the drop-down menu in which you want to add the command.

or, in case you want to remove a command already present in a menu, just do the opposite operation, or drag the drop-down menu inside the popup (you can not cure where you put it, just inside the popup) the command you want to remove.

attention to where the config.win is raised (see below the popup the indication); you can also uncheck the checkbox of the automatic rescue (it is convenient to avoid saving it perhaps without wanting it, if you miss a few steps). or define the config to overwrite.

overwriting a config.win is not always an exact science (at least for my experience on wildfire4).

However, always make a copy of the config.win "good" you are using, although, overwriting an existing config, it is still iterate (.1, .2, etc.).

Hi, I was talking about what you wrote here.
In fact, as I wrote before in that window where you told me too I disabled everything and I can't change anything... But I don't even see the menus that I see when I start pro-e... I just see that "new menu" with the sub-levels inside.
I hope it is not a setting in the config.pro

I have the same problem with wf5.
yesterday I lost 3 hours to update a client's config.win with my staff.
I ran the rescue by overwriting the old config and also creating a parallel copy.
some tools are lost and others move where they want.
the organization of icons often changes at every opening of the program.

there are two things to pay attention to:

the first: Config.win saves the progress, so it is not said that your rescue is the last, compared to that of the customer.
I'll give you an example:
you have updated and arrived at a config.win.25 file and is your last save.
but if the customer on the other side has a config.win.85 will always take is only his, check this.

the second: the boot command does not point to the correct directory, so as priority goes to seize the config.win which is in :
installation/text directory
