I'm on construction sites for a few days away from the office.
in one of these yards want to realize a pyramid-shaped cover with aluminum profiles. The producer has made his proposal but I think it is extremely undersized.
I am aware that I will have to do the checks, but I would like the estimate to be immediately considered on a probable sizing. Maybe approximate, but likely.
Can you help me?
the pyramid has square base with side of 4.5 meters, the height is such that the edge of the upper faces is 3.4 meters. on each edge is placed a profile, the pertinence area of each profile is about 7,7mq.
Since the total load is 2.8 kn/mq (it includes all the weight of its own), taking into account the angle of inclination the vertical load will be 2.6.
the maximum tolerable arrow is about 11mm.
I here with the dash calculator ipotizzo a distributed load even if it is not correct and get a moment of inertia of the profile around 620 cm^4.
what the producer proposes to me has moment of inertia 146.
purely indicative to you what value comes?
