for decades the strong lobby of traders has prevented the center from becoming a pedestrian island. their fear was to lose customers, people (the one who has the money, the one who spins with the turkey) wants to park in front of the store.
then came the new municipal junta that did not look in the face nobody and settled the center (aiuole,fontane etc) and made it pedestrian, just a nice job.
the lady with the suv and cagnetto of order is no more but is full of other people (for me there is still the lady, only she disguised herself

this forced the shopkeepers to renew in turn, to change the windows adapting them to the new "target".
