I don't think it depends on some hardware incompatibility.

try to insert some aec tree to see if arnold does the same with the colors to assign to the polygons to which to apply the textures of the foliage. Usually 3ds max assigns green color to those polygons. just to see if arnold does the same thing or behaves like with the hair and fur modifier

Okay, I took a while because it wasn't what I thought... just set themr prime instead of the buffer in the render settings
