composite materials in wb

Hello everyone,
I wondered if there is the possibility to simulate composite structures even in the workbench, without needing additional software like esacomp.
i.e. if you can use elements for the classic shell99 mesh type.
You probably have to go from classic, but how?
Could the "commands" of the wb be useful?

there are commands to make the pre/post of composites but they are rather laborious and inefficient for non-banal composite structures.
without specialized modules (esacomp type which I do not particularly like), among pre/post fem general purpose I would never choose ansys workbench to make calculations on composite structures. use femap that is superior to manage this type of problems.
