Hello, people, I have made compression tests of a metal material on a press and I would like to reproduce it on ansys. we say that the audition is 50*50 basic and 100 height then a parallelepiped. according to you to correctly simulate the press it is okay to apply a shift on the upper face and a recess on the lower part? in particular I would like to achieve as much as possible the phenomenon of barreling so I should add friction. How do I apply it to faces? I cannot find
Thank you.

Hello, what ansys are you using? if workbench you could hypothesize a model as follows:

elements:
1) parallelepiped 50x50x100 (provine)
2) cylinder ø300x300 (pressing coil)

behaviour:
1) try --> elastic
2) simulacrum --> rigid

load/wine on test

1) fixed lower base (I imagine that part of the audition is blocked in a clamp)
2) upper base in contact with the simulacrum press. set contact with friction and specify friction coefficient

load/wine on simulacrum

1) generate a prismatic guide on the external surface
2) impose a shift with "remote displacement" on the face not in contact with the test.
