Hello everyone
use solidworks 2023 and I am trying to generate a propeller in sheet mode
where the tape width is 450mm and the sheet that for me is a 0.3mm thick film
the result that I try to get the flat development to know the paper cut angle to vary the diameter as it serves to determine the angle of the wrapping
I found another argument like this but the width varied so despite the fact that I am getting out the solution was useless.
if someone wants and time to help me I would be infinitely grateful

try sending a design in pdf, because I can't read it.
Then from the complete measures to what you have and what you want to achieve, I also think it is wrong to talk about propeller and at the same time wrapping.
If it is a solenoid of revolution around a cylinder, we are in the presence of a coclee, with internal diameter, external diameter and step.
you can calculate everything and get the data to be inserted in the program.

1714471344632.webpThis is my solution. I am not a great connoisseur of the functions of sheet metal, but I think this is more of a metal sheet, and I do not think it is in the strings of solidworks.
schematize by hand the development of the propeller I get this.

in mathematical terms: angle = arctangente(passoelica/(pi x diameterelica))

Obviously, if it is a wrapping of a tape around a cylinder, I understood badly and apologized.
However I point out that 450 is the width of the tape and, should not be confused with the step. that is much more.

I propose an example of belt wrapping 450 mm wide. on a cylinder diameter 40 mm. with calculations, in order to get the initial cut angle.

I'm sorry for my absence, but I did a little surgery at the dentist and I've been shitty.
said this allego the files

yes I have a variable diameter cylinder on which I have to wrap a tape the problem that the tape has a size of 450mm wide in coil and I have to wrap it without creating folds therefore according to the diameter of the roller to wrap varies the winding angle
besides this I also have the length of the cylinder that varies and I have to see the total surface. besides this I need to realize it in solidworks in order to be able then to make an animation

to vary the winding angle also vary the passage of the propeller, as indicated by @marco f inox , right?
beyond this I see from the attached file you shaped with the passage of the propeller equal to the section of the sheet. In this way, however, the solid becomes a tube.
I don't have a solution, but I think it can help if you make sure that there's a minimum of space between the edges, so the object remains a propeller.

In fact, I left 1 tenth because in reality I should make sure that there is no space if not of 0.1 tenths the problem succeeds in achieving it in such a way as to obtain even the flat display of the piece of wrapped sheet.

mathematically it was what I had done, but I have to represent it graphically

the solution that came to my mind was to build the wrapped version and that stretched by connecting the two buildings through formulas. I'm convinced there's better, but that's what I managed to do.Avvolgi.webp

Good morning. I resume the discussion to ask two questions:@crazymad - Was the answer helpful?
Anyone else - do you know a different solution?

The only thing that comes to my mind is to use flex.
It's complicated to control but with formulas marco f inox It can be feasible.
Checked. I found two contraindications:
1 - 0.1 mm of light between a coil and the other is not enough not to knead the spiral (become a cylinder), I managed only with 1 mm
2 - to set a angle of flexion higher than 360° (for 5 coils you need to put 1800°) you can do it only through feature manager. but from feature manager it is not possible to set a formula.

Thank you very much
Sorry but I did not receive the notification
I was useful anyway

It proves if it's your case.
