contemporary use of xrif on multiple network stations

Hello, someone can tell me if working on the network at the same time to different files (e.g. I on the ground floor and my colleague on the first floor) that contain the same xrefs, autocad can trouble? I wonder why the program is strangely planned. we have some suspicion that the files linking to the same external references can cause problems... we use atocad 2015 lt.

Usually work with files that have different xrefs and everything works.
verify that they are of type <overlay>, keep the files clean (purge).
