corrupt file problem: mysterious rescue or virus?

Good morning, everyone.
I happened something very strange with an autocad file (version 2012) and I would like to know if it has already happened to someone or if I have to worry because to me it seems like a "x-files" generated by a virus!!!
yesterday I saved a design where I had set different model spaces.
today reopening the file I lost most of the work, indeed, practically everything, but the strange thing is that there are some things left that certainly chronologically I had drawn them after others that are now no longer there.
the other strange thing is that before opening the file, in the preview that you see to the side of the file, you see what then you do not see anymore opening the drawing.
I recovered the .bak file, converted it, but also this is like the original.
I've never been through this and I can't explain how it happened!
for the rest I know that I have nothing to do but redesign everything done in a day of work!!! ! !
Thanks for consulting,
Good day to all...my is certainly not good!
Bye.

Yes, I had set two layouts with different windows. the layouts are saved and you see, but in some windows you just don't see anything, in others you see something, but not everything I had designed.
This is a bit of the weirdness, in the sense that it's not possible that it was me who erased without wanting drawing parts, since I should have made a choice on what to cancel and what not...

that autocad can present sometimes of anomalies, like most programs, it is possible.
but a similar anomaly I don't think is attributable to the program.. .
verified to have frozen or not entities?

is autocad updated with service pack and fix?
I remember that several versions ago (perhaps just 2012) I happened a couple of times something like... but frankly I do not remember if I could recover the file (among other things I think the problem was born from "corrupt" files at the origin). I remember, however, that to prevent a problem of degraded files, I had enabled the "continuous crc validation" in the options.
in addition to .bak, you can try to search among temporary .sv$ (or .ac$) and hope that the last has not been overwritten

Hi, giga.
about "service pack and fix" I don't know ... is the computer technician who installed the program and should know him.. .
the fact that you tell me that you had happened something like this on one side I regret (in the sense that I seemed to have gone mad), on the other hand I worry about future jobs!!! I will definitely set up automatic saves, as you say (what bad luck he wants, since I just changed pc I had not set...grrrrrrr... Yeah, I know, it was supposed to be the first thing to do. ...however, since I do not see any other possible solutions.. All I have to do is roll my sleeves and do all the work!
thank you all and... good Easter!
Bye-bye!

If I'm still in time, one last question: I can't find any more where I can specify the location of the automatic saver address. open in options , open and save (and here is specified each how much to save, etc.. but not the rescue path).
Thank you.

help urgent help !!! maybe I still have some chance to recover how lost, but I need your hand:
I recovered some .bak and .tmp. changing the extension of .bak in .dwg, in the preview of the drawing I see just the parts of the drawing that I lost, but when I open the drawing there are not. How do you use .tmp? I also changed the extension to them in .dwg and I also see in this case a preview of drawing but opening the file, in this case the file is completely empty. Maybe .tmps are used differently?

ok, solved the problem of where I find the file rescue address ("files" did not appear in the drop-down menu but I just had to add it by clicking on the arrow). So I found the bakup files. now remains the problem opening any .bak, I always have the design "corrupt".
But how much does the fact that in the preview I see the design that I want and when I open it instead is not there? I think it's so much that instead of being out here with the .bak, the only solution is to make it all....

there is still some procedure to try (not necessarily in the order):

1) In the auto save file folder there are also the SV$ (as you have already been told by giga in post #5).
search among the names that most resemble your file, for example if you worked on laura.dwg you could find laura2_1_2_1447.sv$ (can be more than one), rename the extension in dwg... open them... Please.

2) Try a dwg file recovery that gives you problems.

3) in the window where you select the dwg to open, at the bottom right click on the dart next to "open" and then "open partially", a second window opens for the selection of layers, try opening with a layer at a time and check if the objects are all there.

4) if there were no privacy issues attach the dwg we try to open it with a newer version.

5) save the design as .dxf and then reopen it.

thank you so much for all the advice...in the end, since I couldn't even solve with the various .sv$ files, armed with patience, I did everything...
Good evening to all and... good Easter and Easter!
