Good morning to all,

I thank in advance who will help me in this problem.

you know if there is a macro or command that allows me within a solidedge set as well as creating a copy of the part, you also copy the connected dft.

see image attached to understand what function I'm talking about if it wasn't clear.

thanks to all good day.

if you activate the "solid edge data management" should do so, after appropriate configuration.

Thank you. My mistake I didn't indicate the version I work with a st9.
Probably the check is on another location.
Thank you.

He should be there on st9, more or less. The problem is that that's just the last step in the configuration, which is not very trivial.

indeed the configuration is not very trivial indeed, someone alternatively found a less invasive solution a macro for example or other??? Thank you in advance.

I think like an automatic opening of design manager after the copy command component.

I still recommend you activate data management and fast search. the advantages that it gives in terms of maintaining the integrity of the links and speeding of the searches are widely worth the work of configuration. if you have file archive on a windows machine (local or network server) management is feasible without excessive complications. If your server is linux, it could be more complex.

at the time the solid edge seller told me that you can tell windows to index a remote folder that is located on a linux server, then as usual between saying and doing there is the sea. He told me that not all linux can be passive object of indexing. You should try something.

I read that fastsearch is actually a front-end of windows search service, which should actually be able to index a shared network resource based on a linux machine (as long as the castrated linux found on the nas have everything you need for smb shares).

but when can windows search index network disks? :unsures:

Actually reading around is not as automatic as I thought. looking online someone offers solutions using native windows or additional software functions. I think I read that for example sinology has a dedicated function on its nas that allows to respond to the search of windows clients. as I told you I was talking to you to hear, fortunately I have a Windows server so everything works automatically. it would serve to do tests, the advantages of solid edge data management are so great that it is worth losing a day to see if you can solve the problem of having a nas.

the "problem" is that here we have a qnap nas and there is no change in the short term.

As for the management of files and links we have the distinct on erp that correspond to 100% axioms therefore it is a requirement that we can also give up.

certain that being able to exploit fast search would be convenient in other situations; when I have time I will investigate even if I have not too much hope.

I think indexing can also be done with qnap, I added a link above.

I'll give you two data management files:
1) Select a part in the assembly, and you activate a button in the toolbar that if pressed opens the corresponding draft.
2) if you rename a file in revision manager, the system automatically searches and updates all assembly in which this is contained, all in time + or - real
only for these two things is worth using it.

I have to verify, the important thing is that it has to index with fastsearch, we will see

1) I use my Apridft which allows me to open even multiple designs if selected multiple parts
2) situations in which I find myself only in case of new projects, and I know therefore already which assemblies I must update

I do not want to diminish the instrument, indeed, is that it arrived when I had already faced and solved all the needs.

Yes, they were just two examples of the functions I use most often. another for example is that when I have to put a part or add it to the axieme I don't have to navigate the folders but just type the code in the search field and then solid edge (or better to say windows) searches in a few tenths of a second throughout the data archive. interesting things are many.
