we imagine having a part (e.g. a simple plate) with a working group (holes, passing discharges, blind milling) that repeat.
I would like to understand how you can define a together of faces to create a pattern of repetition.
I would like to do so to be able then to change both the same base of the repetition (the working group) and the whole series (the step, the number of instances and what possibly jump, etc.).

Is there someone who is so kind to explain how to do it?
of the options "mode, hub with opening, pocket, opening" under "set of faces" in modeling I sincerely did not understand much.

These commands are used to create an entity that the system recognizes to make the pattrern, in essence if you make a blind frieze, in order to be able to use it with the pattern command, you must first use the pocket command by selecting all the faces, then give it the reference point and thus you will create the pocket that you can see below the structure tree, as when you create the holes with dedicated command. at that point you can use the pattern command.

if you select all the faces that interest you, then in the minitoolbar that opens there should also be the symbol of the correct group to create, ie hub, pocket or opening.

- Now you have to define the group of faces giving it an origin and two directions (even randomly)

I had some problem repeating in a single blow drilling (made with external libraries) and milling made with traditional extrusions/cuts, but I solved.
