Hello everyone, in the cold and rainy afternoons just past, not knowing what to do I wanted to try to reproduce a mechanical piece, executed by me at the lathe a few years ago, to the computer..
time to draw the cube = 15 minutes
time to draw support = 10 hours :biggrin: It was complicated but I finally made it:biggrin: what do you think?
I forgot. I used autocad 2011..



p.s.as you notice from the second photo, the screw under the support is not illuminated and I do not understand why.. I put the torch!

first of all I suggest you insert a plan to which you can assign a wooden material and then a background (smoked or in plain color)
at this point would be the case to activate g.i. (global lighting) and adjust the reflections of both materials.

10 hours for support?? exercise new commands with the help of the online guide.

if you need lighting from the bottom you need to insert a spot light (reflector) that points in that direction or from the bottom up

I immediately tell you that my autocad is in English and I do a little trouble with the controls, moreover all the rendering phase was made "to the carlona" both because I didn't care so much but especially because it was the first time I used it!
I will try to make the changes that you have suggested to me and see to fix this device:wink:

If you use in any 3d modeler in less than an hour you shaped and rendered....10 hours to draw the support??! boh.
