try with intersection from the edit menu . then with skup8 just create a group and then another and on both you can do Boolean operations

the context menu "interseca faces"appears only when you click on simple entities including a face.
this command serves to create complex geometries consisting of two or more objects. intersecting flat geometries or three-dimensional sketchup shapes automatically creates new edges and faces where objects touch each other. to intersect two objects and merge them together they must be simple free entities or within the same group or component. if you intersect groups or components between them, the edges created by sketchup remain out of the group or component and in reality do not intersect.
you can use this command in exercise 7 (see page 97 inclined cuts) by intersecting a rectangle with a hea.
