I have two rectangular tubes that cross forming a t... how do you cut the desired side of the t (both with angle joint or with cutout/extension)? . . .
Now it seems to keep the longest side intact by cutting off the short... but I need the other side.. .
In short, the usual button is missing to choose the direction of processing. . .

but not enough to reverse the selection sequence?
the command description in blue and yellow says the different parts and how they will be cut.

@davide75
I thought the same thing.. But then I didn't try to see that I changed the structure... But I would like to understand what the logic of operation is. . .

@diegus
It's not enough to reverse... also because blue and yellow indicate what is the element that is cut, not the "direction" of the cut... However I tried several selection sequences but no one made me cut the element part I wanted. . .

Can I ask a question? definitely davide75 can answer me... Is the inventor frame generator the function of welded in swx? in which package is included?

Hello and thank you

I flatter myself king....cmq if I don't remember badly the welded function of inv2010 should be like that of sw or at least I saw that inv copied it from sw :), cmq now are up inv and I did not have to try in sw the welded function but to me it seems to be yes (take it with the pliers). As for the generator canvases of inventor (if I didn't understand bad the application ) should be included in

depends on how you do the sketch:
If you make a whole line to represent the long part of the t (i.e. the part on which you go to get the other one), fg will cut you only the short part, as it does not know interruptions.
If instead to represent the long part, make a broken line, (or better 2 consecutive lines) at the point where the crossing takes place, you can cut as you want... .
Of course, in the bom you find yourself with two entities for the whole part of the t.

I read your post today, honestly I didn't understand the problem well. you can insert an image or skeleton.

I didn't understand who you were referring to. Anyway, if you were referring to me, here is an image and the files for those who have 2010....

I'm sorry I can't post something extra (I don't have inventor or autocad on this pc) but I try to explain better (it's not such a complicated problem).
In practice: I have a t (created with the chassis generator) asymmetric (with the horizontal beam shifted from one side).
I want to cut the upper horizontal section at the vertical beam.
if you want to keep the horizontal stretch longer, no problem.
Otherwise, you can't cut the upper beam by keeping the horizontal tract shorter.
obviously using the frame generator controls (including angle joint, size/extension, etc.).
probably the easiest solution (besides changing the segment in the skeleton) is to create a point in the skeleton and insert the frame member between two points instead of on segment (but I did not try)... but it is not so convenient...

If necessary, as soon as I can place a little something.. .
