cutting of a profile

Good morning to all,

I'm rich and I've been using solidworks for a month.
I wanted to know if it is possible to cut a profile or a beam (as from photo attached- the beam to be cut is indicated with a) using other profiles as tools, avoiding in this way to resort to sketches.

How do you mate those profiles? they have not got
It's solidworks, it's a 3d cad, but it's not miracles.
You can still use the classic extruded cuts, no one forbids it.

I don't know what you mean to shorten?
pretend that sw makes the cuts to 45° or that it performs
Shoulders?

I meant sw could cut 45°. I attach a file with different profiles for example in this way let me work and get the desired result.
