Hello.
I wanted to parameterize a circular section tube to quickly achieve development ... but I can't develop a closed cylinder! What do I do?

I followed this logic:
1. I created sketch with sheet metal section (parameters: height, thickness)
2. I created the revolution at a parametric radius
3. I create a metal cylinder
4. I ask him to create the flat model but nothing...

Where am I wrong or how can I do it?
Thank you.

I don't know what version you have but with 2008 you have to create a square with fitting equal to almost the radius of your cylinder, eliminate a segment and then give the flange command contour to this point you develop it without problems

with the sheet you can't create a closed cylinder, that's the point.
in inventor and in all other parametric cads you have to recreate what is reality, i.e. a sheet metal with the two lembi that almost touch each other.
I, for example, create my cylinder of revolution and instead of making the total revolution (360°) I make it 359 or 359,5° so that it remains a minimum of space between the two.
Afterwards in sheet mode, I impose the thickness and I create the development easily. (I don't know if in the latest version of inventor it is so but to create the development of a sheet metal you have to select a surface before giving the command creates development)

I had no idea how to do this... but it seemed a little bit imprecise... but if it works well it will be:
