Good morning, I'm not a big sw user, but I have the following problem.
I have .igs files (simple tubes) that I open with ver. 2009 and I have to take them to acad using the sat format (the only one that I managed to read
My problem and that at the end of operation my file is all surfaces while I would like to get a solid.
I sometimes do not, so I thought there might be some settling to give sw to solve the prob.

when you carry out and select how, whatever export you make format in the window you will find options, and from you can set them as export it.... then in sat I never exported as I do not use it but I believe that if in solid is a body you export it as such while if it is a surface you export it as surface. . .

you can try to use options even when it matters from iges, but create a body from imported surfaces I think it's a bit arduous... I don't know what else he knows how to do... I don't think you can do with simple steps.

If the surfaces are not closed, there is no automation that can work.
I use inventor and when they pass me " ugly" surfaces " I can only take them back and treat them manually with rhino.

if they are surfaces can not be a solid.
to transform a solid surface is necessary inspessirla.
your "tuber surface" does not turn it "taking head and tail" (it would no longer be a tube); from the area menu choose thickening (opture insert > extrusion/base > thickening), add options and turn into solid.

I imagined with swx, since you asked here. then the dwg is unusable, you should post that original .igs file, so open it with solidworks and apply thickness to the surfaces. Then you will save it in .sat to open it in acad.

p.s. put in your profile the softwares you use. That's it. cad does not mean anything (they are all cad). also indicates year/version, otherwise we do not know how to exchange files.

I imported the surface and ran import diagnostics. using diagnostic functions I managed to generate solid. I'll get you the file.

I didn't read your surgery. I don't know if I understood well, at the moment I exported the dwg to iges, I imported it in swx and with the diagnostic I solved the problems of the surface managing to generate the solid. I posted the swx part. I don't know if it's all right.

OK thanks I try with the diagnostics. I don't understand why saving in .sat doesn't open it in acad!!!
