Hello everyone,
We put a hole not passing on a pipe, wanting to highlight the particularity with a decomposed section (as in figure) since the hole is executed on a cylindrical surface it is not possible to select its edge as a depth parameter of the decomposed section.
how did you solve this?
Thank you so much!Immagine.webp

the temporary axes are displayed and the axis is set as a depth parameter; above all in this way the hole is properly dissected until its correct size.
I do not understand why not make a normal section that makes it clear that the hole is not passing.
a decomposed section instead represents that portion of view, but could leave the doubt that we have forgotten to put in place the hidden lines and therefore the hole on the other side is present, but not represented

Thank you very much for the answer, it worked!
actually in this case I can do a complete section. Let's say that I reported that case as an example.

ps. for those who have problems selecting the hole axis because (as in the case above) overlaps with the cylinder axis, can select it on an assonometric view.

in the right view the hole axis cannot overlap with the cylinder axis. However in these cases it is always better to help with the selection filters. selectable filters via the appropriate toolbar

you are right, but for example if there is another hole aligned to that, the assonometric view can help.

Your observance is just. we specify that the assonometric view can be concealed or deleted without any effects on the uncomposed section
