Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and I'm also a bit impeded, I hope not to say (and do) stupid things. I was recently hired by a company in which they use a program called md3. not finding it around the network I investigated and found, in the properties, a connection with thinkdesign (this is what I found c:\axion\150\md3\thinkdesign\bin\md3.exe). So first question: are they in the right section of the forum:confused:? second question: my owner would like to make good renders with what I will draw in md3, you know to recommend a program (if there is) that can do what he wants (and maybe so gives me the increase:wink:). He saw Maxwell, would it be okay?
thank you in advance for the answers!

first of all thanks for the answer. here in the company we have always made the renders with md3 but now we are looking for something less "artificial" in order to make beautiful presentations and catalogs. we saw maxwell and we were impressed by what he can do. Now I downloaded the demo and saw that .stl files of md3 are compatible. I'm gonna pop a little bit to see what comes out of it. in case I return here to ask for help!! thank you again!!!

md3 is basically thinkdesing resended by amadaschiavi, so you're in the right forum.

As for renders, as mentioned above always depends on what you have to do, but I would add that it also depends on the version of thinkdesign you use.

the latest version 2011.1 has improved quality of dynamic rendering, and they do nice things in no time.

among the various engines of render I would not even leak bunkspeedhttp://www.bunkspeed.com/software/shot It's really powerful,

If you want an opensource solution there is also blender.http://www.blender.it/Hi.

thanks for the suggestions! Now I'll take a look at the boss. the version of md3 we use has been updated to the last, but what comes out with rendering is not enough. only a curiosity, but blender is not a 3d modeler? hi and fat!:finger:

be calling him a modeler is a little diminutive..

you can do something about it..
from animations, to games to render ..

take a look at the official website ...blender.org

Hi.
Matteo

apologize if "sporty" this thread, but when will the final 2015 download be available??? Bye.

2015 had a delay due to the change of compiler, it will actually come out with the name 2015.2 ..
for customers, upon request to the customer care, a beta version is available..

soon
Matteo

hi and thanks to the answer, my colleague had proposed to try in demo mode the beta version, but I preferred to avoid installation on my pc so as not to create problems with the current version that is 100% stable, also because the update for me is anything but necessary, most of the times it is just curiosity to see the news. change of compiler??? but did not already use the vc++ of ms??? they will not want to use this time the gcc ... ;)

Hi.
Maybe I felt bad..
I pay for the version of the compiler.. if not erro have passed from vs2005 - vs2012 ..
this is also allowed to bring other software (basic bookcase convertitors) to the 64-bit version. all for a general increase ranging from 5 to 15 %...

Matteo
do you mean increased performance, increased capacity or increased costs?

pass from vs2005 to vs2012, although under x86_64, it will hardly lead to a gain greater than 5%, with so much "try to the counter". This is due to the fact that m$ compilers have never really been reprogrammed to optimize application efficiency on a specific processor, if anything to cope with purely commercial goals. to this one must the fact that only software houses as intel have actually spent resources (but it is all summed up in their interest ...) to make the most of their processors with unprecedented optimizations and instructions that m$vc could not even understand. just fill out (indicatively) the same program with vc and intel parallel study and significant differences emerge. It should then be added that translating a 32 to 64-bit program does not mean a flag in compiler options, how much to totally review the code and adopt different programming techniques (viva64 could be of help...). then I wonder if already nx makes use of a "intelligent" compiler like ips, certainly in the mathematics of the big numbers the vc compiler is to be considered to be "low" level.

as usual what coco lends itself well to misunderstandings...

What you indicate, even if I'm not as documented as you might be reasonable. The data we base on, are not only code-based: es:
I have the program that does abc.. I do it with vs2005 I let go of the test battery I take the time, I do the same thing with vs2012 and I repeat = 5% extra performance...
the passage to the new compiler, in the case of td, has made it possible to update many libraries, that because of the old compiler had remained behind, this added to a code optimization allowed to reach the data I indicated.
I hope I was clear..
